Hume’s Determinism Refuted by David R. Schneider Abstract: Hume’s argument for assuming cause-and-effect is undermined by way of three empirical challenges. Further, the argument itself is shown to contain two critical flaws in logic. A new theory is presented to supercede determinism, in which causality and chance are relative.
